SBTi validates De Cronos Groep’s climate targets
Kontich, 12 February 2026 - De Cronos Groep announces that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This validation confirms that the group’s climate ambitions are aligned with the latest scientific insights to limit global warming and underscores its commitment to reducing its climate impact in a structural and measurable way.
Science-based climate ambitions
With the SBTi validation, De Cronos Groep reaffirms its commitment to a credible and transparent climate journey. The Science Based Targets initiative assesses whether reduction targets are consistent with the Paris Agreement and the scientific frameworks required to limit the global temperature increase.
Concrete reduction targets for 2033
De Cronos Groep commits to reducing emissions across its entire value chain. The validated targets include:
- A 54.6% reduction in absolute scope 1 and scope 2 emissions by 2033 (base year 2023)
- A 32.5% reduction in absolute scope 3 emissions by 2033 (base year 2023)
